Sharing the same spirit that embodies the Makena Resort, the Makena South Course also provides the serenity and tranquility many golfers are looking for. It's not to say that the course doesn't provide quite a measure for golfers of every level, but it's remote setting and well-spaced tee times make the South Course a favorite among the many Maui golfers.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the South Course is a 6,739-yard, par 72 course with natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and capitivating ocean and mountain views. The Makena South Course boasts one of Hawaii's top driving holes, the par-5 number ten. According to members of the PGA Aloha Section, number ten was selected as one of the top par 5's in Hawaii. It's no wonder. Nestled between a view of the Puu Olai cinder cone to the west and the clubhouse with the Ulupalakua Ranch in the background on the east, the tenth hole is a long 502 yards on this exceptional golf course in Makena Maui.

Makena Golf Course Properties

There is only one Makena golf course property bordering the 15th Fairway, that being the newly constructed luxury residential community of Black Sand at Makena. Consisting of seven home sites over five gated oceanfront acres with unobstructed views of the neighboring islands Molokini and Kahoolawe.
