The Menehune Shores resort development hugs a soft sandy beach and overlooks an offshore reef, protecting a 16th century Alii (Royal) Fish Pond of Kalepolepo. This lagoon is the launching location for the outrigger canoes heading out into the Alalakeiki Channel or Maalaea Bay. The lagoon is a safe place for children to swim and snorkel without the threat of breaking waves. Snorkeling, spear fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing are popular among the locals in this area.
